Copper Shield™ 45 SCX is loaded with 45% copper and boosted with the biocide SCX to give tremendous protection against barnacles, slime, grass and algae for multi-year protection in fresh and salt water.

Copper Shield 45 SCX compares to Interlux Micron Extra and Pettit Ultima SR in quality, performance and top-coat compatibility.

Its ablative copolymer base renders a smooth finish with durability and abrasion resistance. The added SCX biocide (Slime Control Xtra) acts like a sunscreen to prevent slime and algae from attaching to the hull, which further enhances the effectiveness of the copper biocide.

Because of the ablative (polishing) nature of Copper Shield 45 SCX, a continuous exposure of a new paint film to the water releases biocides that resistance barnacles and slime, even if the boat was previously on the hard for extended periods of time. Additional coatings extend the service life of an ablative bottom paint since its life is proportional to its coating thickness.

Copper Shield 45 SCX has universal application over all types of properly prepared bottom paints. It's for use on all vessel types including fast planing and slow trawling fiberglass boats, as well as wood and steel hulls (not for aluminum hulls and sterndrives).

Covers 300 to 400 square feet per gallon.
